Explore the many paths that this beautiful and versatile medium has to offer. These classes will cover a world of different techniques that you can use to not only paint a beautiful painting from reference photos, it will expand your horizons to bring you to possible new directions in your work. This is an all levels class and is taught in a relaxing and encouraging environment. And best of all. It's going to be fun!

Hand Built Pottery - Summer 2022

Description: 10 sessions: Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:30 am - 12:30 pm.5/31, 6/2, 6/7, 6/9, 6/14, 6/16, 6/21, 6/23, 6/28, 6/30 With Nancy Scilipote.
Learn to create amazing ceramic items using just your hands, fingers, and simple tools! Potter Nancy Scilipote will teach you ancient hand building techniques such as coil building, slab building and pinch pots and how to enhance your creations with surface textures and glazes. No experience needed. Classes will be held in Gallery 53's fully-equipped ground level pottery studio. If you've always wanted to try making pottery but have been intimidated by the wheel, this is a great way to dive in. Come and have fun, get your hands dirty, and discover why clay's the way!

If you feel your teen or tween may have been impacted by the isolation imposed by COVID, this is a fantastic opportunity for them to move beyond those experiences in a screen-free environment focused on positive self-expression!
