A Road Less Traveled: 2021 Abstract Art Show

Description: Calling all abstract artists! This is your moment to shine; an exhibit that's less focused on traditional representation and more about your interpretation of the world! The show will be judged by Heather Neilson, a Connecticut abstract painter and mixed media artist, and 4 cash prizes will be awarded.

Description: Tuesday April 27 & Thursday, April 29th from 6:30-8:00PM.

Make a fabric masterpiece with Ice Dying! In this 2-session workshop, instructor Lynn Fisher will guide you through folding techniques and color selection to create a garment or piece of fabric with a vibrant, cloud-like watercolor look.

Participants should bring fabric or items made of natural fiber such as cotton, rayon, bamboo, or linen. Suitable items include clothing, "fat quarters" for quilting and pillow cases. Everything should be washed ahead of time with no fabric softeners or dryer sheets, to remove any chemicals that will interfere with the dye.

$35 member / $40 non-member - includes materials

Entrepreneur Outreach Meeting-Meriden Co-Working Project

Description: The City of Meriden is partnering with the Meriden Economic Development Corporation ("MEDCO"), the Midstate Chamber of Commerce, and CTNext to explore whether developing a co-working space in downtown Meriden would be beneficial to our local small business community. This space would allow different companies to rent and share office space and the costs to use the space, office equipment, utilities, and support staff, including a receptionist.

This event will be 1 of 2 open forum events where we seek the opinions of local business owners, entrepreneurs, and telecommuters who work remotely regarding these initiatives. Light fare and refreshments will be provided.
