Adult + Child Workshops: Tie Dye and Stepping Stones

Tuesday, July 27, 2021 through Thursday, July 29, 2021 at 6:00 PM–7:30 PM

Description: Session 1: July 27, July 29 / 6:00 - 7:30 PM / + 1 Session TBD

COST: $80 for 1 adult, 1 child / $5 for each additional child

Spend some quality time together making art . . . and memories! In this Adult + Child Workshop, you will both make a one-of-a-kind tie dye t-shirt and a unique stepping stone for your yard! You'll spend 1 class at Gallery 53 making a glass mosaic design and dying your shirt. Then you'll meet at the instructor's house to mix cement and pour it into a form. At the 3rd class (participants will choose date and time), you will rinse your tie dye shirts, break the stepping stone out of the mold - and reveal your creations! This class is suitable for all ages. Fee includes materials for one large stone and one small stone, and one tie dye t-shirt. $80 fee is for one parent/one child, $5 for each additional child.

Student services, financial aid, and business offices representatives are available and the MxCC Bookstore will be open. Beginning in the fall, all students who participate in on-campus activities are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.

Learn how to make true New Haven style thin-crust pizza in the commercial bakery at Gateway Community College. Chef Andrew Randi has been perfecting his pizza dough and other various breads throughout his career. You may have sampled his recipes at the Gateway Community College restaurant Café Vincenzo. Students in this class will get hands on experience in the bakery, learning how to make pizza dough from scratch, shaping the dough, and work with a variety of classic and modern toppings.
