"Sweeten Your Spring" Fundraiser to Support Easterseals

Description: EasterSeals is holding a fundraiser to directly help their programs. The first 150 donors to make a gift of $55 to Easterseals can receive an exclusive sampler box of chocolate treats donated by Fascia's Chocolates, CC's Chocolates, Thompson Chocolate and Sweet Maria's.

Easterseals is dedicated to providing essential programs and services for individuals and families facing disability. We empower people with all abilities to be full and equal participants in their communities.

Easterseals Employment and Community Services (ECS) provides programming for adults with disabilities. We assist each individual achieve short and long term independent and vocational skills through employment services, pre-employment services and/or day services, depending on the personal goals an individual is working toward.

Description: This workshop will look at this tool used in the philosophy of Louise Hay, "You Can Heal Your Life." This was used by Louise as she created the life she desired and shared it with us. You will practive how to visualize and how you can make it part of your life so it really works for you in creating your own reality.

I Love My Library Dinner

Description: Join us at the "I Love My Library" dinner! Tickets are $30/person and you can purchase by mailing checks to : Friends of the Library, c/o Meriden Public Library, 470 Lewis Ave, Unit 4036, Meriden CT 06451. Put Library dinner in the Memo field. They will also be available Friday mornings at the Library at Frank Ridley's station. We will mail tickets to you if purchased by March 1st. If purchased after, you can pick them up at the dinner.

"Casework On Your Corner," Services Provided by Congresswoman Hayes Office

Description: Congresswoman Jahana Hayes (CT-05) announced her signature "Casework on Your Corner" program will be available once a month in Meriden and Danbury. Since taking office in 2019, Congresswoman Hayes has hosted over 70 "Casework on Your Corner" events throughout the Fifth District to provide constituent services that meets people where they are to assist with issues involving federal agencies. Last year, the office successfully closed more than 750 cases and returned $9.9 million to constituents through casework.

Many residents are often unaware of the services a congressional office can provide. "Casework on Your Corner" was established to bring caseworkers directly to constituents at public libraries, farmers markets, small businesses, and community events. Starting Tuesday, January 17, 2023, caseworkers will be available one Tuesday a month.

Congresswoman Hayes and her dedicated casework staff stand ready to help constituents navigate problems with a federal agency including the:

Social Security Administration (SSA)

U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA)

Internal Revenue Service (IRS)

U.S. Department of State
