Starting April 3rd, the Meriden Health Department will be offering a free eight week smoking cessation program for all Meriden residents. The program consists of eight one-hour sessions, and will be held on Tuesdays from 1-2 p.m. at the Health Department, 165 Miller Street. The program will include behavior modification, social support and relaxation techniques. A quit day is built into the program so that all participants will quit a the same time. The group will be facilitated by Debbie Roman, certified smoking cessation counselor. Persons interested should contact the Health Department at 630-4104. Pre-registration is required.
