What's New With the Youth Services Division

What's New With the Youth Services Division -Teen Outreach Program (TOP)- Our afterschool/community service learning program for 8th graders from Lincoln and Washington middle schools and 9th graders from Maloney and Platt high schools is going strong! This year's youth are working hard on their annual public service project, focusing on teen dating violence awareness. Youth are working with Chrysalis Domestic Violence Shelter to plan a Teen Dating Violence Awareness Walk in May at Lincoln and Washington Middle Schools. Youth are also planning their year-end celebration ceremony for TOP graduation.Summer Youth Employment applications for youth 14-18 years of age will be available (depending on funding): May 6, 7, and 8, 2:00-4:30pm at Youth Services, 165 Miller Street. May 9, 2:00-4:30pm at New Opportunities, 74 Cambridge Street.
Only 350 applications are available and only YOUTH will be allowed to pick up the applications! Summer Youth Employment is a federally and state funded program run every year by the Meriden Youth Services Division. Call Terren at 203-630-4232 with any questions.
Campership Applications Available - Campership is a financial aid program offered to children who would like to attend one session of summer camp and need financial assistance. Call 203-630-4225 for more info.
Community Service Events for Youth � Do you need community service hours? Consider volunteering at the Mayor's Cleanup on Saturday, May 4, 2013 or the CHC 5K Race for Mental Health on Saturday May 11, 2013. Call 203-630-4232 for more info. Rosanne P.
