Note from SBA's Office of Advocacy

November 22, 2007

The Small Business Administration's Office of Advocacy is asking small businesses to submit regulations that should be repealed or reformed as part of an effort to reduce the burden of outdated or ineffective federal regulations.

SBA's Tom Sullivan addressed the Chamber's Council on Small Business during its annual meeting recently and announced the Regulatory Review and Reform (r3) initiative. The r3 initiative will work with federal agencies to reduce the burden of existing regulations on small business, including publishing a "top 10" list of regulations in need of review and reform in February. The r3 Web site will also be updated with agency status reports every six months in an effort to keep small businesses aware of the progress.

The U. S. Chamber supports the r3 initiative and urges small business owners to nominate federal regulations that are outdated or ineffective and make recommendations for reform by logging on to www.sba.gov/advo/r3.
