Midstate Chamber of Commerce advances energy efficiency adoption in Connecticut with Community Partnership Initiative grant

The grant was made available by the sponsors of Energize Connecticut?, Eversource and Avangrid subsidiaries, United Illuminating, Connecticut Natural Gas, and Southern Connecticut Gas, as part of the Community Partnership Initiative's (Partnership) third round of funding.

With this grant, the Midstate Chamber of Commerce is looking to enroll its small business community in Small Business Energy Advantage programs. The Chamber is also promoting energy efficiency programs for Multifamily Housing Properties (5+ units). Upon enrolling in the energy efficiency program, an Eversource contractor will provide a no-cost assessment, along with guidance and recommendations on appropriate energy efficiency technologies and methods to maximize program incentives and energy savings.

"We are delighted to partner with Eversource and our energy efficiency partners on these valuable programs. Small businesses are critical economic drivers in our community, and any opportunity to help them reduce costs is vital to the growth and sustainability of our local economy. We encourage all small businesses and non-profit organizations to register for a no-cost assessment as soon as possible," said Rosanne Ford, President of the Midstate Chamber of Commerce.

She added, "We are also promoting energy efficiency programs for multi-family properties with five or more units. Property owners, managers, and landlords are the best points of contact and should reach out to the Midstate Chamber of Commerce directly to schedule a no-cost assessment by calling (203) 235-7901 or emailing r.ford@midstatechamber.com."

"The Energize Connecticut Community Partnership Initiative is a powerful way to connect with customers in historically underserved communities," said Eversource Director of Energy Efficiency Stephen Bruno in the Sponsors' official press release. "This Initiative has proven how localized outreach drives greater participation in energy efficiency programs, helping residents and business owners to reduce their energy usage year-round." To make energy efficiency affordable and accessible to all, the Partnership strives to provide local community groups, nonprofit organizations and municipalities with grants to promote energy efficiency adoption and educate residents and businesses on energy efficiency solutions available to them. Seventeen entities, including nonprofits, municipalities and chambers of commerce, were selected to participate in the third round of funding, bringing the total to 42 grants awarded, impacting many Connecticut communities. After providing some basic information, participants will be connected with an Eversource-authorized contractor.
