MIDSTATE CHAMBER EDUCATION AWARD APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE

MIDSTATE CHAMBER EDUCATION AWARD APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE.

APPLICATIONS ARE NOW AVAILABLE FOR ANNUAL SANFORD S. SHORR, BRUCE H. KANNENBERG & JONAL LABORATORIES, INC. AND YOUNG EDUCATION AWARDS THROUGH THE MIDSTATE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.

Applications are now available from The Midstate Chamber of Commerce for the Annual Sanford S. Shorr Education Awards and the Bruce H. Kannenberg & Jonal Laboratories, Inc. Education Award and the Frank A. & Charlotte G. Young Award. Applications are available at www.midstatechamber.com under Resources and Community Services. The deadline to return completed applications is March 26, 2021.

The Midstate Chamber Board of Directors, with input from the Education Award Committee, has changed the eligibility requirements to be more inclusive of the region that this chamber of commerce serves. Now, any Meriden resident may apply AND Midstate Chamber members in good standing and their employees and dependents are eligible to apply as well, regardless of city/town of residence. Note that this only applies for the Sanford Shorr Awards and the HOLA Award.

+The Sanford S. Shorr Education Awards are made annually by the Midstate Chamber of Commerce for up to three graduating high school students.* Each of the three awards is for $1,000. One additional award of $1,000 may be made to a student who is returning to college.
+In addition, we are pleased to add up to two $1,000 awards from the Hispanic Outreach Leaders in Action Committee for a graduating Hispanic high school student.*
+The Chamber will also be accepting applications for the Frank A. & Charlotte G. Young Award. This is a one year award for up to $2,000 for a Meriden resident (graduating high school senior) that "excels in the field of Science and/or Math" and will be pursuing a degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or Business.
+The Chamber will also be accepting applications for the Bruce H. Kannenberg & Jonal Laboratories, Inc. Education Award. This is a 4 year award for $1,000 per year for a Meriden resident graduating from a Meriden Public School who will be pursuing a degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) or Business.

* Any applicant may reside in Meriden, may be an employee of a Midstate Chamber member in good standing or may be a dependent of an employee of a Midstate Chamber member in good standing regardless of where you live.
