FEMA Information

Need help after Hurricane Irene? You are encouraged to register with FEMA before you visit a Disaster Recovery Center. To register with FEMA call 800-621-3362 or visit www.disasterassistance.gov. You will be asked your phone number for callback, social security number, current mailing address, address of the damaged property, a brief description of the damages, and your insurance information. You will be issued a FEMA application ID# and a FEMA disaster housing inspector may call to set up an appointment to view the damages.Several Disaster Recovery Centers are open across the state beginning Sept. 8th. Hours of operation at these centers is Monday through Saturday from 9am to 7pm and on Sunday from 10am to 3pm.

Fairfield County - Western Greenwich Civic Center, 449 Pemberwick Rd., Greenwich Hartford County - Tunxis Community College, 271 Scott Swamp Rd., Farmington Litchfield County - Torrington Fire Headquarters, 111 Water St., Torrington Middlesex County - Department of Police Services, 6 Custom Dr., Old Saybrook New Haven County - Gateway Community College, 88 Bassett Rd., No. Haven New Haven County - High Plains Community Center, 525 Orange Center Rd., Orange New London County - Groton Senior Center, 102 Newtown Rd., Groton Tolland County - Community Center, 10 So. Eagleville Rd., Storrs-Mansfield Windham County - Quinebaug Valley Community College, 742 Upper Maple St., Danielson
