Mary G. Fritz, State Representative, 90th District, and Deputy Majority Leader, Wallingford, has instituted a program collecting cell phones for battered women. Nearly 5,000 new cell phones have been donated to the Coalition Against Domestic Violence through her project. Representative Fritz is asking every person who has an unused cell phone to donate it to help battered women to obtain assistance. The Chiefs of Police Association has agreed that police stations across the state can serve as the drop-off points for these phones with their chargers. Mrs. Fritz is asking civic organizations, Chambers of Commerce and everyone else to donate their unused cell phones and chargers to make a difference.
