WFC's Project REACH In School Empowerment (RISE)

In July, WFC was awarded funding from Workforce Alliance to provide services to youth who are at risk for truancy or dropping out. The program will target low income juniors and seniors from Platt and Maloney High Schools in Meriden.RISE offers intensive case management to enhance students' opportunities for educational success. The program has a host of preventative and support services available to youth enrolled in the program including crisis services, tutoring, study groups, job development, job readiness skill building, educational opportunities, community service and work experience.
The program sponsors two student tours to a CT state college campus. Programming began in late September and runs through the school year.
