The Fifth Annual Silver City Brewfest will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2004 in conjunction with the third Annual Meriden Festival on Main in Downtown Meriden. This great event enables the Meriden service clubs to work together for a common goal in the community. The proceeds will benefit the Women and Families Center's project R.E.A.C.H. (Reach Every Adolescent to Create Hope), our new Outreach and Drop-In Center for homeless and at-risk youth. The goal of R.E.A.C.H. is to empower youth to make choices in the best interest of their safety, well-being and future selves through outreach, counseling, education, case management and service linkages. The proceeds from Brewfest 2004 will fund renovations and other resources needed to accommodate this much needed outreach and prevention program.Past service club supporters of the Brewfest have included the Rotary, Lions, Unison, Kiwanis, Tri Town Golden K, Civitan and the Knights of Columbus. The Women & Families Center looks forward to working with these and other organizations in the community. Once again the sponsors of this event will be Valencia Discount Liquor and Wine Shop and the City of Meriden.
Ticket holders will receive a commemorative beer mug and may sample an assortment of beverages from the area's finest breweries and wineries. Food is also provided. Live music will be performed throughout the day by an array of well-known local musicians. On-Air personalities from WCCC 106.9 The Rock (including The Girls of the Rock), will be on hand from noon till 2:00 p.m.
Tickets can be purchased at the Women & Families Center, Valencia Discount Liquor and Wine Shop and Quality Time Sports Bar. Tickets are $20 in Advance, $25 Day of the Event.
