MidState Medical Center has won the Nutmeg Level of the Connecticut Award for Excellence. This award is the state version of the Malcolm Balridge National Quality Award, the criteria for which are acknowledged nationally as the premier definition of excellence in the business community. MidState is only the second hospital in the state to achieve this award. According to Lucille Janatka, president and chief executive officer of MidState, MidState's patients rank the facility in the top 3% of all hospitals participating in a nationwide patient satisfaction survey. With this award comes the distinction of meeting strict standards of excellence that cross many industries.
