MidState Medical Accredited: Nat'l. Breast Center of Excellence

MidState Medical Center Accredited a National Breast Center of Excellence by the American College of Surgeons: MidState Medical Center's Cancer Center is pleased to announce that it has been accredited a National Breast Center of Excellence by the American College of Surgeons. In 2008, 184, 450 patients were diagnosed with breast cancer in the United States. And hundreds of thousands more women deal with non-cancerous breast issues that require medical evaluation. Receiving care at an accredited center ensures that patients have access to: � Comprehensive care, including a full range of state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment services; � A multidisciplinary team approach to coordinate the best treatment options for each patient; � Information about ongoing clinical trials and innovative treatments; � Quality breast care close to home.National Breast Center accreditation is only given to institutions that voluntarily undergo a rigorous evaluation process and review of their performance for best-practice standards. During the lengthy application process, MidState Medical Center demonstrated its proficiency in leadership, clinical management, research, community outreach, professional education, and quality improvement.

The National Accreditation Program for Breast Centers is a group of professional organizations dedicated to ensuring quality care and monitoring the outcomes of patients with breast diseases.
