2025 United Way Holiday Programs Requests
September 30, 2025
2024 was another fantastic year of record-breaking number of donors who helped over 500 families in need with gifted food and generous presents for the holidays. It's our donors' support that makes it possible!!! Although, we are in a new year, the need has hit a record high across our Meriden and Wallingford communities - more families are experiencing hardships and cannot seem to catch a break. If you, your family, friends, community clubs, and/or workplace would like to participate this year to make a family's holiday season special, we invite you to participate in any of the programs - 2025 Holiday Programs, Thanksgiving Baskets, Adopt-A-Family, & Giving Trees.Thanksgiving Baskets - United Way has received at least 140 Thanksgiving Basket requests fo far. Fill a basket, box or bag with wnough nonperishable food for at least 4 people. Please include a $20 grocery store gift card so the family can purchase their holiday perishables.
Adpot-A-Family - "Adopt" one or more anonymous families. Each family's wish list includes: ages, genders, and sizes and gift ideas.
Giving Trees: the trees will be displayed in the Meriden Mall in November for shoppers to visit.
Our Meriden & Wallingford community nonprofit partners are working with their neediest families to gather the details on their biggest needs and wishes. We will have Wish Lists soon.
