The Thompson brands company in Meriden is staying in Connecticut. But that's not all - more jobs may be headed this way as well.The candy company that has called Meriden home for 125 years is staying put. Thompson Brands has chosen to close its California plant and move all operations to here in Meriden. That means not only the 100 jobs here are saved. The company expects to add jobs now that it will expand the Meriden operation.
One reason chose to stay: its new calcium product Adora - is made here at this facility and executives say such specialty chocolate is the future. Also, the state of Connecticut came through with a crucial loan and the city of Meriden offered incentives.
