Our work does not stop until everyone has a home.
February 2, 2021
Our work does not stop until everyone has a home. Our shelters are operating at reduced capacity to meet the CDC guidelines for social distancing and ensure the safety of shelter guests and staff. With funding from the State and FEMA, we are able to offer hotel rooms once again to ensure that no one is left in the cold this winter.
Access to the hotel and the shelters still begins with a call to 2-1-1. We are doing housing assessment over the phone and doing our best to divert people from entering the shelter system. Our outreach staff are still on the street offering assistance to the few people who remain outdoors. We have rental vouchers for individuals and families moving out of homelessness. Our biggest challenge is finding apartments to rent. Please contact the Coalition on Housing and Homelessness at 860-346-8695 if you have an available apartment and would like to learn more about our programs.
