American Eagle Employees Conclude 2021 with Nearly $50,000 in Donations to Local Charities

Employees of American Eagle Financial Credit Union (AEFCU) concluded another impressive year of philanthropy and service to the community with $12,766 in total donations to local charities during last year's fourth quarter. With these latest donations, AEFCU employees cumulatively donated $49,473 to community nonprofits in 2021.

The recipients of American Eagle employees' latest donations include: - Mary's Place (Windsor, CT): $2,670 donation -The United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut: $3,836 donation -Credit Unions Building Financial Independence Foundation: $2,670 donation -The American Eagle Financial Credit Union Fund: $3,950 donation

"Giving back is baked into American Eagle's mission and values," said Howard Brady, President & CEO of American Eagle Financial Credit Union. "I'm very thankful for our employees' impressive voluntary contributions to local organizations and causes, and for continuing our Credit Union's proud legacy of excellent service and commitment to the community."

Mary's Place: AEFCU employees donated $2,670 to Mary's Place, which provides an atmosphere of trust for children and families who are grieving a death and a safe place where they can share their experiences, receive support and find comfort.

"Because the grieving and healing process is open-ended and unique to each individual, this generous donation from American Eagle employees will be used to support our ongoing programs and the services we provide to all those who seek our services," said Brittany Sheehan, Executive Director of Mary's Place.

United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut: American Eagle employees donated $3,836 through payroll deductions during the fourth quarter to the United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut-elevating their total 2021 donations to the United Way to $13,494. In addition, the Credit Union matched 50% of the employees' annual contribution for a corporate donation of $6,747 to the United Way.

"Our ongoing partnership with American Eagle and their employees has provided needed financial resources to help struggling families achieve stability and improve their quality of life," said Paula Gilberto, President & CEO of the United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut. "I am truly impressed with the generosity of American Eagle employees year-after-year."

Credit Unions Building Financial Independence Foundation: American Eagle employees donated $2,670 to the Credit Unions Building Financial Independence Foundation (CUBFI) this past quarter. The funds will be used to provide financial education to students through their virtual "Bite of Reality" program and credit union employees through their certified financial coaching program.

"We are grateful to American Eagle and its employees for donating to our Foundation, which directs funding back into the community to improve the financial health of Connecticut residents," said Dave Hinchey, Director of Community Impact at the Credit Union League of Connecticut (CULCT).

American Eagle Financial Credit Union Fund: AEFCU employees donated $3,950 last quarter to American Eagle's Donor Advised Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving. Total employee donations into the Fund for 2021 were $11,555. The fund serves as American Eagle Financial Credit Union's primary source of charitable giving and provides opportunities for the Credit Union, its members and strategic partners to give financial support to charities in its five-county service area.
