Putting the Pyramid Spin on Bowling: Pyramid Time's Played with the Pros to Support the United Way

Should another NFL lockout take place, the players always have a backup sport: bowling. On Saturday March 10th, two dozen NFL players teamed up with Pyramid Time Systems among other local companies and took to the lanes to support the United Way organization of Wallingford and Meriden. As players stepped off a yellow school bus in front of Colony Lanes Bowling Alley, a comfortable vibe filled the small building. Employees, families and friends occupied the backroom as the players signed t-shirts and other paraphernalia for the children and adults donning yellow wrist bands. Around 7pm the atmosphere was loud, lively and slightly competitive as the games began. Every player and their team enjoyed each other's presences as they competed for strikes and spares. The pro's were nothing but welcoming and warm as the star struck kids asked questions and hung on their every move. Pyramid bowled with Buffalo Bills rookie, Chris Hairston, for the second year in a row, last year playing with him while he played for Clemson University.

Saturday marked the 19th anniversary of United Way's, NFL Players Weekend and Pyramid's 4th year of participation. The volunteer- driven organization focuses on providing human and financial resources to members of the neighborhood and holds various fundraisers throughout the year to continue their mission of supporting the community.
