Naugatuck Savings Bank Foundation Awards $5,000 Grant to St. Margaret Willow Plaza Neighborhood Revitalization Zone Association, Inc. to Support Its Youth and Senior Programs.Naugatuck, CT, June 24, 2013 - The Naugatuck Savings Bank Foundation has granted $5,000 to St. Margaret Willow Plaza Neighborhood Revitalization Zone (NRZ) Association, Inc. to support and expand its youth after-school and summer programs, and its seniors day activity programs. "As a mutual company, we are committed to help support good programs that fill the void of services needed by children and senior citizens in our community," said Charles Boulier III, Naugatuck Savings Bank President and CEO. "St. Margaret Willow Plaza NRZ Association offers such comprehensive programs that serve both groups."
St. Margaret Willow Plaza NRZ Association offers youth after-school and summer programs that include homework assistance, education enrichment, activities which include reading, arts and crafts, math and science projects and other creative activities. Its senior day activity program offers the opportunity for seniors to spend time productively outside their home during the day while having the opportunity to receive needed health care services, educational enrichment activities, and entertainment and socialization programs.
"We are thankful for the Foundation's support that will help us achieve our goal of helping children stay focused on school, and continue to meet the need of seniors who have no discernible program or facilities to serve them in the neighborhood," said Rafael Herrera, St. Margaret Willow Plaza NRZ Executive Director.
