Welcome Kaara Koplowitz!
June 9, 2021I am pleased to announce that Kaara Koplowitz has joined us as our new Gear Up Program Coordinator! She is transitioning into her new role on a part-time basis and will begin her full-time duties on June 18, 2021. Her office this summer will be in Founders Hall 107. During the school year, she will be at Platt High School in the MxCC@Platt office in the school media center.
Kaara has been at Achievement First Hartford High School since 2014 as Student Services Manager, Summer Programs and Special Projects Manager, and most recently as Director of College and Career Office Operations. Achievement First is a charter school with a core mission to have 100% of its graduating class accepted into colleges and universities. In her latest role, she was responsible for managing a diverse caseload of seniors through the college search process, designing school-wide events, streamlining communications between the school and families, and building a college-going culture among the school's 400+ students. Prior to joining Achievement First, Kaara was a Regional Operations Manager for New Horizons United in Bloomfield for four years.
Kaara holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Central Connecticut State University and a Master of Science in Organizational Leadership from Southern New Hampshire University.
