Welcome to Laura Hartwig - New Librarian!
May 31, 2009
The Library is pleased to announce that Laura Hartwig is our newest full time librarian. She filled the position vacated by Reference Librarian April Ferron who retired earlier this year. Many Friends and patrons will recognize Laura from her work at the Branches, the Circulation Desk, and most recently, at the Reference Desk as a part-time librarian. With a Bachelor's degree in English, Laura has been studying in the graduate program for Library Science at Southern Connecticut State University and will receive her Masters degree in August. Laura organized and will continue to lead a book discussion group at the library. She will also be the library liaison with the business community, work on building the collection and programs for job searchers, and help the public and staff utilize existing and emerging technologies. As if that isn't enough, Laura is a mom and yoga instructor too! The Library and community are fortunate to have Laura as a full time member of the staff. Be sure to say "Hi" the next time you visit the Library.
