Get acquainted with some fascinating books that spotlight New England values and culture in a new radio series called "StoryLines New England", a joint presentation of Meriden Public Library and WPKT-FM, 90.5.

"StoryLines New England" is funded by the National Endowment for the Humanities and organized by the American Library Association. The series will debuted on October 16 at 8:00 p.m. and can be heard for the following 11 weeks on Saturdays at 8:00 p.m.

Each StoryLines America program focuses on one book. The first reading is One Hundred Days Like This One, a contemporary classic by New Englander Jane Brox. You can read the book, listen to guests talk about it on the air and then call in and share your comments on a toll-free telephone line.

Meriden Public Library has limited copies of the books, free "StoryLines New England" discussion guides and other information. Call 203 630-6349.
