The addition of a new cutting machine at Meriden Manufacturing, Inc. will more than double productivity at the manufacturing firm. Officials at the facility realize that, in order to keep up with the contracts from aerospace manufacturing companies, they must continue to turn out quality parts. That is the basis for the purchase of a machine that produces many rounded parts used on aircraft engines. Sharon Fox, Meriden manufacturing president, noted that in order to stay ahead of the competition, this purchase keeps work in-house instead of subcontracting it outside the company.
