Free Backpacks, School Supplies for Wheeler's School-Age Patients

National Health Center Week, August 8-14, was a time to honor and celebrate the work that community health centers like Wheeler do every day across the country. Wheeler prides itself on taking care of the whole person by providing primary and behavioral health, prevention and education, recovery support, community outreach, and much more all under one roof. We kicked off National Health Center Week by offering our child and adolescent patients at our Family Health & Wellness Centers a backpack of school supplies and more, while supplies last, when they come in for their school vaccinations, appointments, and services!We also supported and were on hand for Hartford's annual South Marshall Street Block Party, highlighting our dental services for the whole family and helping organizers pass out more than 150 backpacks and blankets for attending families!
Backpacks for our patients were provided through the support of Wheeler's generous donors, and for patients at the Hartford Family Health & Wellness Center, also in partnership with United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut.
