A recent clinic to learn Double Dutch was run at the club by Judy Roberson-Williams, author of "So You Want to Learn How to Double Dutch?" and a physical education teacher in Hartford. Competitive Double Dutch was started in 1972 by two male police detectives in Washington, D.C., as a sport in which girls could participate. Participation by boys is limited, so they don't take the sport away.
