Masonicare's Carl Anderson Completes LeadingAge Connecticut Leadership Academ

July 9, 2013

Carl Anderson, Vice President for Mission Effectiveness at Masonicare, recently completed the inaugural Leadership Academy program developed by LeadingAge Connecticut, a membership organization representing more than 130 not-for-profit provider organizations serving elderly and disabled individuals. Members include continuing care retirement communities, residential care homes, housing for the elderly, nursing homes, adult day centers, home care agencies and assisted living communities throughout the state.

The LeadingAge Connecticut Leadership Academy was designed to foster and encourage strong leadership development throughout its member organizations. During the year-long program, 21 participants, nominated by their respective organizations, engaged in customized learning experiences that included site visits to member communities, interaction with recognized aging services leaders, self-exploration of leadership styles and an individualized learning project.

In his role at Masonicare, Mr. Anderson is responsible for spiritual services, fraternal relations, and the community benefit program. He attended Western Connecticut State University and has a certification in therapeutic recreation from Post University. He also received a Master of Divinity degree from Andover-Newton Theological School in Massachusetts. Mr. Anderson and his wife Betsy and their daughter reside in Newtown. Wallingford-based Masonicare is Connecticut's leading not-for-profit provider of healthcare and retirement living for seniors.
