Hilde Sager of Masonicare Completes LeadingAge Connecticut Leadership Academy

Hilde Sager, Assistant Administrator for Independent Living at Masonicare, recently completed the inaugural Leadership Academy program developed by LeadingAge Connecticut, a membership organization representing more than 130 not-for-profit provider organizations serving elderly and disabled individuals. Members include continuing care retirement communities, residential care homes, housing for the elderly, nursing homes, adult day centers, home care agencies and assisted living communities throughout the state.The LeadingAge Connecticut Leadership Academy was designed to foster and encourage strong leadership development throughout its member organizations. During the year-long program, 21 participants, nominated by their respective organizations, engaged in customized learning experiences that included site visits to member communities, interaction with recognized aging services leaders, self-exploration of leadership styles and an individualized learning project. Kelly Papa, Masonicare's Corporate Director of Learning, was a member of the design team that developed Connecticut's LeadingAge Academy and participated in the program as both a facilitator and a coach.
In her role at Masonicare, Ms. Sager is responsible for the operation of Masonicare at Ashlar Village, Masonicare's continuing care retirement community on Cheshire Road in Wallingford, and 173 independent living apartments adjacent to Masonicare Health Center. Ms. Sager received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Communications from North Park University in Chicago. She and her husband, Doug, are residents of Southington. Wallingford-based Masonicare is Connecticut's leading not-for-profit provider of healthcare and retirement living for seniors.
