Masonicare's Dr. Rajesh Tampi Named Geriatric Psychiatric Clinician of the Year by National Association

Dr. Rajesh Tampi, Director of Behavioral Health for Masonicare of Wallingford, has been named Geriatric Psychiatric Clinician of the Year by the American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry (AAGP). The award will be presented in March at AAGP's 2013 Annual Meeting in Los Angeles.The American Association for Geriatric Psychiatry is a national association representing and serving its members and the field of geriatric psychiatry. AAGP promotes the mental health and well-being of older people through professional education, public advocacy, and support of career development for clinicians, educators, and researchers in geriatric psychiatry and mental health.
In addition to his prominent role at Masonicare, Dr. Tampi is an Associate Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at Yale School of Medicine and an attending psychiatrist at the Dorothy Adler Clinic at Yale-New Haven Hospital. An expert in the field of neuroscience, Dr. Tampi received his medical degree from the University of Kerala and his post graduate diploma from the University of Leeds. He has been with Yale since 2001 and has received the "Teaching Attending of the Year Award" three years in a row and has also been named an "All Star Physician." Dr. Tampi is Board-certified in psychiatry with a sub-specialty certification in geriatric psychiatry. He has lectured and published extensively.
