Mitchell P. Butin, MD was recently appointed Director of Trilogy Outpatient and Long-Term Care Psychiatric Services. Trilogy Psychiatric Services is an affiliate of Wallingford-based Masonicare, Connecticut's largest not-for-profit provider of senior healthcare and retirement living. Arthur E. Santilli, President of Masonic Healthcare Center, made the announcement.

Dr. Butin is board certified in psychiatry with added qualifications in geriatric psychiatry. He has been in private practice in Connecticut for several years, and has been with Trilogy Psychiatric Services since 1995. In his new role as Director, Dr. Butin will provide and coordinate patient care and clinically direct Trilogy's outpatient office on Barnes Road in Wallingford. He will also be involved with the development of new programs and services currently provided to residents of area long-term care nursing homes, including Masonic Healthcare Center in Wallingford.

Dr. Butin received his MD degree at S.U.N.Y. Downstate Medical Center with Internship and Residency training in Psychiatry at Kings County Hospital. He also completed his Fellowship in Geriatric Psychiatry at New York Hospital, Cornell Medical Center. Dr. Butin has held teaching and clinical positions in several New York medical centers, including New York Hospital, Cornell University Medical Center and Goldwater Memorial Hospital. Additionally, he was Medical Director of Jewish Association for Services for the Aged - Geriatric Mental Health Outreach Services in New York.

In making the announcement, Mr. Santilli said, "During the past ten years, Dr. Butin has been a valuable part of the Trilogy team, and we are very pleased to have him assume the role of director. His knowledge and extensive experience in the field of psychiatry, coupled with the outstanding group of clinical practitioners and office staff that make up the Trilogy team, will further enhance Masonicare's image as a leader in identifying and treating mental distress in adults, with enhanced services for men and women dealing with aging and later life issues."

Dr. Butin, a resident of Armonk, New York, is active with the American Red Cross in Westchester County.
