Irma Morse Original Works

Original Irma Morse works available at Gallery 53 MERIDEN, CT-- Looking for ways to refresh your space? Gallery 53 has over a hundred original pieces of art by Irma Morse for sale--landscapes, still life, and portraits, in oil, pastel, and watercolor. Original earrings and pins created by Morse are also available. From now to July 24, visit, or go online to Gallery 53's virtual exhibit/sale of framed and unframed original work by the late Irma Morse, prominent Meriden artist, businesswoman, and former Gallery 53 President. Link for the online exhibit and sale, featuring 30 selected works, is www.gallery53.org/morse Morse, who passed away at the age of 92 in 2000, attended Pratt Institute in New York City. She later studied with well-known artists, Robert Calrow, Harold Vroom, and Jack Flynn. A recipient of various local and regional awards for her paintings in oil, watercolor, acrylic, and pastel mediums, Morse gave private lessons, and taught painting at both the Meriden GALLERY?53? 53 COLONY STREET MERIDEN, CT 06450 203.235.5347 WWW.GALLERY53.ORG 1 Senior Citizen Center, and The WWII Veteran's Memorial Hospital in Meriden for many years. While president of the Arts and Crafts Association of Meriden, Mrs. Morse also was instrumental in the purchase of the current building for Gallery 53. The paintings are valued from $50 to $400. Half of the proceeds from her works will be donated by her family to benefit Gallery 53 and the Irma Morse Scholarship Fund. The scholarship honors her love of art and her interest in encouraging young people in the field.
