The Chamber expresses deepest sympathy to the family and associates of John S. Filipowicz, who passed away in early December. He was known as "Little John" to his shipmates during World War II, a name which he used as his company's title. He started his own business in 1947 and retired in 1988, leaving the management of his company to his sons Robert & Kenneth. He met his wife Mary when they were teenagers after moving her parents. They dated before he entered the service and were reunited after the war, which led to a 52-year marriage. He also leaves a daughter, Janice Warro, who works with her brothers, as well as a daughter Diane, and five grandchildren.
