Kelli's a Salon Welcomes Nate Bottone as New Owner

After 30 years in the cosmetic/hairdressing industry and over 18 years of business ownership, Kelley M. Moore from Kelli's a Salon is hanging up her shears and passing on the color formulas to Nate Bottone, Master Stylist and new owner of Kelli's a Salon, LLC. After starting ownership under the name of Kelli's Unlimited, Kelley Moore became known as a community activist as she involved her salon in several local events.

Kelli's a Salon was regularly an award winner for salon float entries in the annual Daffodil Parade, bringing home such recognition as Most Unique, Most Creative, First Place and Best Overall. Kelley also loaned herself and staff to the Daffodil Committee to volunteer with the parade route as well as flipping burgers and selling beverages at the food tents.

Kelli's a Salon was named Best Hair Salon in the 2005 Readers Choice Award sponsored by the Record Journal. For many years the salon staff was involved with make up and hair design backstage for the annual Kiwanis Kapers Show. While managing the salon, Kelley was an active community volunteer member, active on several Boards. In addition to serving as a Greater Meriden Chamber of Commerce Ambassador, Moore has received a citation for the "dedication and commitment to volunteering" from the State of Connecticut, as well as earning the award for Woman of the Year by the Connecticut Federation of Business and Professional Women. In 2006, Kelley was the Executive Producer for the Heart Beat of the City Public Access Television Show sponsored by the Friends of the Meriden Public Library.

As of April 1, 2008 Ms. Moore will continue working as a Prevention Coordinator for Rushford, a private, non-profit behavioral healthcare facility, helping families and individuals cope with addiction and mental health issues. Rushford has facilities in Meriden, Middletown, Glastonbury and the shoreline. In addition, Moore plans on increasing performances with "Sean, Kelley, and Wayne", an eclectic singing trio that includes Wayne D'Amico. They will be performing at the Annual Daffodil Festival under the food tent at 4:00 pm on Sunday- April 27- the final day of the festival.

The entire staff at Kelli's a Salon, LLC welcomes Nate Bottone as the new owner and manager. Nate brings new and innovative ideas to business and the beauty industry. A graduate of TEACH (The European Academy of Cosmetology and Hairdressing) in Guilford and an employee at Kelli's for over 8 years, Nate is committed to serving all new and existing clients of Kelli's. Bottone is an Advanced Redken Colorist and trained as a Tony and Guy Stylist. He is an active member in the Greater Meriden Chamber of Commerce Young Business Leaders. Kelli's a Salon, LLC will continue to be a dedicated member of the Meriden Community as they remain major sponsors of the annual Daffodil Festival for another year!
