Castro Honored by CCADV with Meriden and Wallingford Chrysalis Nomination

The CT Coalition Against Domestic Violence recently held their 3rd annual event to honor men in our communities that have made a difference in the lives of those who are impacted by domestic violence. Meriden and Wallingford Chrysalis nominated Miguel Castro, owner of Prestige Construction Home Improvement and Meriden City Councilor for his work with Chrysalis on an emergency project. Last winter, a Chrysalis transitional living site had two boilers break down and with Miguel's help and support, he was able to get the facility up and running - if left unattended, 15 women and children would have been left homeless. Since then, he has also spoken out as a Male Against Domestic Violence at our Candlelight Vigil, and has signed up to be a male ambassador through the 10x10 campaign, a new campaign to train men to teach/speak to other men against violence against women and children. "We are honored and thrilled to have him as an ally!" said Sharlene Kereleza, Director of Meriden and Wallingford Chrysalis.
