The Honorable M. Jodi Rell, Governor of Connecticut appointed Fred McKinney as one of ten business leaders to sit on the committee to recommend for appointment the next Commissioner of the Department of Economic and Community Development. Governor Rell said the search team will be led by Mr. Karl Krapek of Avon. Mr. Krapek is a retired President and Chief Operating Officer of United Technologies Corp. who has earned a national reputation for his corporate leadership and business expertise. Along with Dr. McKinney, others on the committee include:

Larry McHugh, President - Middlesex Chamber of Commerce; Mary Ann Hanley, Director - Office of Workforce Competitiveness; Elizabeth Gagne, Vice President Mass Mutual Financial Group; Anthony Resigno, President Greater New Haven Chamber of Commerce; Teresa Ressel, Chief Operating Officer - UBS Bank of the Americas; Julio Mendoza, Executive Director Spanish American Merchant Association ; John Rathgeber, President Connecticut Business and Industry Association; Wiliam Cibes, Chairman - HomeConnecticut; Laura Grondin, President and CEO - Virginia Industries; James Abromaitis, Former Commissioner, Department of Economic and Community Development.
