The next Executive Director of Girls Inc. of Central Connecticut will be someone authentically aligned with the mission and values of Girls Inc., and who has a deep personal commitment to the vision and strategy of the organization. They will be an innovative entrepreneur and thrive on building, strengthening and maintaining collaborative partnerships with a wide variety of stakeholders. The Executive Director will initiate and lead a period of strategic growth, expanding the reach of the organization geographically with new service delivery models and partnerships, broadening the composition of the Board, and establishing the organization as an expert in girls' rights, girls' leadership and positive youth development practices that help girls thrive.

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director is responsible for the strategic leadership of the organization and oversight of all Girls Inc. programming; and is responsible for managing staff, program administration and interfacing with the National Girls Inc. organization. They partner with the Board of Directors to ensure long-term planning, strong fund development success, and representation of Girls Inc. in the community - all leading to continuous and healthy growth.

As the organization's chief spokesperson, they have primary responsibility for building partnerships with schools, government and community organizations, foundation officers, corporate and individual donors. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience coordinating new strategic partnerships and business development, fundraising and diversifying revenue generating opportunities, developing a powerful branding strategy and experience effectively integrating the organization's expansion, outreach and fund development efforts. Candidate Profile: While no one candidate will possess every quality outlined for this position, a successful candidate will bring many of the professional qualifications and personal attributes described here and in the job description: The ideal candidate will have exceptional interpersonal and people management skills, with the ability to lead a team of mission-driven and passionate individuals with a commitment to fostering an inclusive culture where individuals can show up as their authentic selves. In addition, the Executive Director will embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion both internally and externally in continued support of the communities Girls Inc. serves.

This role will call on successful candidates to demonstrate their ability to be a coalition builder, who understands how to move a wide range of constituents and lead through inspiration and motivation. They will provide clear, consistent and empathetic communication and seek feedback voraciously from all stakeholders; they are someone who excels at relationship building, who has a contagious drive for excellence and accountability for data-driven decision making.

The Executive Director must have broad management experience in a non-profit, government or business setting, including program and project development, implementation, and evaluation; short- and long-term strategic planning; and budgetary oversight. The ideal candidate will have exceptional leadership presence and experience serving as a spokesperson for an organization, with demonstrated ability to increase and leverage organizational visibility, credibility and brand recognition through the media and other public relations sources.

Girls Inc. of Central Connecticut is looking for an experienced, entrepreneurial, dynamic and determined executive leader to drive a multi-year expansion project that enables the organization to fulfill its potential to serve girls throughout Central Connecticut and, eventually, throughout the state. Girls Inc. of Central Connecticut will require an annual operating budget of $750,000 in FY23, with commensurate growth in the future to fuel expansion into new communities.
