It's that time again! Girls Incorporated is in the process of planning our 6th Annual Strong, Smart, and Bold Benefit Celebration and we don't want to leave you out of a wonderful reception for Strong, Smart, and Bold girls and women. Every year this event gets bigger and bigger. Last year over two hundred people attended this great community event.

The 2005 Honoree of this prestigious award is the well deserving Ms. Staci M. Roy, Executive Director of the Augusta Curtis Cultural Center in Meriden, CT. Our keynote speaker is Dr. Susan G. Weinberger; an international consultant on mentoring, founder and President of the Mentor Consulting Group based in Norwalk, CT. Dr. Weinberger, affectionately known as "Dr. Mentor", is Chairperson of the Public Policy Council, Mentor/National Mentoring Partnership and founding member of its Technical Assistance Corps. Dr. Weinberger has authored numerous publications on mentoring and has traveled to the East Room of the White House to receive President Clinton's coveted Volunteer Acton Award for her work in mentoring. She will be speaking on the Power of Mentoring.

The Girls Incorporated of Meriden Sixth Annual Strong, Smart, Bold Benefit Celebration will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2005 at The Hawthorne Inn at 2421 Wilbur Cross Highway. A $50.00 donation to Girls Inc. begins with arrival at 5:00 p.m. and dinner at 6:00 p.m. Come to celebrate the 2005 Honoree Staci M. Roy. Proceeds from this annual benefit help to support the nationally tested Girls Inc. programs as well as scholarships for advanced education for Girls Inc members who are planning to go onto college.
