Wachovia Welcomes New Connecticut Community Banking President - Will Lead Region through Conversion to Wells Fargo

July 14, 2010

Wachovia, a Wells Fargo Company, announced today that Kent McClun has relocated to the area to become the community bank president (CBP) for Connecticut. McClun previously served Wells Fargo as president of the Northwest Iowa Territory, based in Sioux City, since 2005. He joined Wells Fargo in 1999 as a CBP for the Palm Desert, California, market. The Wachovia brand will switch to Wells Fargo in the first quarter of next year.

While in Iowa, McClun managed the retail and business banking operations in his market. "He is superior at leading teams, delivering results and managing partnerships with other Wells Fargo lines of business to ensure the best customer experience - and he has been actively involved in the communities he served,: said Joe Kirk, Wachovia's regional president for Connecticut and New York.

Prior to joining Wells Fargo, McClun held positions, which included assignments in New York and Hartford, at Dreyfus, American Express, Coast Federal Bank and Griffin Financial. McClun is in the process of relocating to the area with his family - and he will be based in Meriden.

"I look forward to ensuring a successful integration of the Wells Fargo brand here in Connecticut," said McClun. "I would like to capture the hearts and minds of customers through our superior financial products and services - and through our commitment to growing local jobs and strengthening the economies of the communities we serve."
