Arc of Meriden-Wallingford Becomes MidState Arc on 65th Anniversary

While the ARC of Meriden-Wallingford celebrated its 65th anniversary as an organization whose staff is busy supporting individuals with disabilities across 27 towns spanning from Milford to New Britain. It has become clear that they have outgrown their geographically specific name.This summer, the board voted to become MidState Arc. They will soon be launching a new website at midstatearc.org. Their logo and email addresses will be changing too. Everything else will continue along the same path.
The history and future of the agency is one of transition. Founded in 1952, they have evolved over the decades with the needs of those they support. As they shift from a care model to a support model, they are poised for further growth and to lead the charge to lower the per-person cost of agencies like theirs while achieving greater independence for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
Towns currently served by MidState Arc include: Berlin, Bethany, Cheshire, Cobalt, Cromwell, Durham, East Hampton, East Haven, Hamden, Kensington, Meriden, Middletown, Milford, Naugatuck, New Britain, New Haven, North Haven, Northford, Plainville, Plantsville, Portland, Rockfall, South Meriden, Southington, Wallingford, Watertown, Woodbridge
