Welcome Richard Liegl - New Director of the Meriden Senior Citizens Center

It is a privilege to introduce myself, Richard Liegl, as the new Senior Center Administrator. I'm looking forward to this new role and am excited to lead the Senior Center after John Hogarth's long tenure. I have worked in the Senior Services field my entire professional career and have enjoyed the last 6 years as the Senior Center Director for the Town of Windsor, where I was able to increase the membership to 1,100 individual active members. We also lowered the median age of the members by 9 years by offering specialized programs targeted to baby boomers.

My approach is to listen to the senior patrons of the center and work with our team of dedicated staff and volunteers to provide high quality and interesting programs, classes and events for the seniors of the community. Fortunately here in Meriden we already have a great Senior Center and an abundance of free or low cost classes. Please feel free to stop by on November 14 at 10:30am in our Dining Room to meet me and discuss the opportunities that we offer here at the Meriden Senior Center.
