2016-2017 Mentoring Program at Ulbrich Boys & Girls Club

September 13, 2016

The Ulbrich Boys & Girls Club has recently finalized details for the 2016 - 2017 Mentoring Program. The program has 2 mentorships successfully meeting weekly at Parker Farms Elementary School. We are now looking to recruit more mentors and are in need of assistance with spreading the word. Please review the Mentoring Program information by visiting our website here: http://www.ulbrichbgc.org/mentoring. In particular, please review the Mentoring Program Outline, which is attached to this e-mail.

KEY DETAILS: - The Club will host a mandatory mentor training which will be held on Wednesday, October 5th - 6 PM to 8 PM and Saturday, October 8th - 10 AM to 12 PM. Potential mentors only have to attend one of the two training dates - Mentors have the option to mentor at either at Parker Farms Elementary School (preferably between the hours of 11am to 1pm) OR the Ulbrich Boys & Girls Club on weekdays between 4 PM and 6 PM - We ask for each mentor to make a one year commitment, and see their child for at least one hour every week

YOUTH WHO HAVE MENTORS: - Experience fewer unexcused absences at school. - Are less likely to abuse drugs. - Demonstrate more positive attitudes. - Display greater confidence in their schoolwork. - Show improved academic performance.

Thank you for your time. Please contact Megan Lenzzo, Executive Director or Chris Bacote, Program Director at (203)269.7535 with any questions you may have.
