Melinda J. Schoen, RN, A-CCC, CCM, Clinical Nurse Manager for the subacute rehabilitation unit at Masonic Healthcare Center, recently completed a course of study at the College for Women at the University of Hartford and successfully passed a rigorous examination to become a nationally-certified case manager. This certification is provided by the Commission for Case Manager Certification, which is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies.Janice Costello, RNC, MSN, Vice President of Patient Care Services at the Masonic Healthcare Center, said, "Melinda has been an outstanding nurse since she first joined our organization in 1996. Her dedication and commitment to the field of nursing, along with her leadership qualities and compassion for our residents, is commendable. We congratulate Melinda on this achievement and are fortunate to have her as part of our team."
Schoen, who resides in Wallingford with her husband, David, and their two children, is currently enrolled at Charter Oak State College, working toward a Bachelor's Degree in Science and Health Care Administration. She is also a graduate of the nursing school program at St. Vincent's College in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
