CHC, Inc. Recruited to NIH National Precision Medicine Study

The National Institutes of Health have announced that CHC has been recruited as one of several high-preforming national organizations to participate in President Obama's Precision Medicine Initiative. It is a great honor based on the recognition of the great care that all our staff provide for underserved populatioins together with the important research being conducted bby our Weitzman Institute.

We will be part of a pilot program to determine the infrastructure needed to enable a wide variety of community health centers to participate in the program. This pilot is critical for bringing underserved indiviuals, families, and commuities into the Precision Medicine Study, especially those historically underpresented in biomedical research.

Mark masselli, CHC's President, CEO, and founder concurred with comments by Francis S. Collins, M.D., Ph.D., Director, NIH about the importance of understanding individual differnces in treating illnesses noting "Our care for the underserved, who too often get left out of important medical research led us to create the weitzman Institute to ensure that everyone has an opportunity to be active participants in studies that can improve health outcomes. We look forward to bringing our experience providing quality care to the underserved together with the Weitzman Institute's research expertise to this important effort."
