Community Health Center's Summer Programs

The Community Health Center in Meriden is offering a variety of programs for children from incoming grade 6 through 12 grades. The school-based health center is offering a variety of groups this coming summer that will equip your child with new skills and increased confidence. All groups are therapeutic and character enhancing. However this will be done in a fun and safe environment with a variety of activities, games, talk therapy, and crafts.Programs include: - Transition to High School - learn organization, study and necessary skills to be successful in high school, for grade 8 students only - Cyber Safety - learn skills to avoid unsafe encounters, what to do when it happens, and how to protect yourself online - Girl Topics - enjoy some healthy girl time addressing typical self esteem issues and friendship dilemmas in a fun and creative environment - Depression & Anxiety Support - learn to combat nervous thoughts and build confidence, learn coping skills designed to improve and stabilize mood - Social Skills Development - learn how to build healthy friendships - Anger Management - learn what's behind y our anger and how you can better control yourself in stressful situations
