The Nurturing Families Network program at the Comm ...

November 26, 2006

The Nurturing Families Network program at the Community Health Center in Meriden provides services for first time mothers that reside in Meriden and Wallingford area. We are currently serving 60 families with in our community. Nurturing Families Network Home visitation- is a FREE, voluntary family support program designed to ease the transition through parenthood. A "first time parent" home visitation program providing education and support where Family Support Workers provide education and support directly to the family in their home. In addition monthly family activities, in-services and playgroups are provided. Services begin during a mother's pregnancy and continue until their child reaches the age of five. Our goal is to make them self sufficient. We help them with goals and give them the resources to make their goals as a family or as an individual themselves. During the many years I have seen many families reach theirs goals, accomplish everything that they needed to become self-sufficient.

We are in the process of planning our Holiday Christmas Event. We are looking for donation items for our program. We are in need of boys and girls pajamas, T-shirts, socks, slippers and jogging pants or shirts. The sizes ranging from 8T - newborn. We would greatly appreciate it, if you found us to be a worthy cause and help us.

If you have further questions or would like more information on this program, please do not hesitate to contact Lydia Vasquez-Heredia during the day at 203-237-2229 X 6040. Thank you for your time and consideration in this matter.
