Rushford receives $260,000 FUNDING from Connecticut Department of Mental Health and addiction services (DMHAS) for new generator

(Meriden, CT) -- Rushford, a Hartford HealthCare partner, has been awarded funding totaling $260,000 to support the purchase and installation of a new generator at its Meriden location. The money comes from the State of Connecticut's Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) to provide capital improvements and was approved by the Connecticut State Bond Commission on September 27, 2013."This funding will greatly enhance Rushford's emergency preparedness plans," said Rushford President & CEO, Jeffrey Walter. "The 400Kw generator will provide a consistent, environmentally-friendly power source for the entire building and will assure uninterrupted service to the clients and staff of our Meriden facility in the event of a power outage. We are grateful to DMHAS and the Meriden legislative delegation for their assistance in obtaining this much needed financial support."
Rushford at Meriden is located at 883 Paddock Avenue, and serves nearly 6,000 clients each year by providing programs in partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and community support services for adults as well as outpatient programs for children and adolescents. The Meriden site is also home to Rushford's administrative functions, overseeing operations at its additional sites in Durham, Portland, Middletown and Glastonbury.
This project is expected to be complete by spring 2014.
