Raleigh Washington, nationally known religious figure, spoke recently at the church on the topic of dealing with bitterness. If action is not taken it can destroy a person. Mr. Washington uses quotes from the Bible to support his advice, along with his own life experiences. He believes that telling the truth will set people free. Pastor Will Marotti praised Mr. Washington for his efforts in eliminating racial barriers, especially after his commitment to Promise Keepers. Pastor Will was overwhelmed by Mr. Washington's decision to speak at his church among thousands of others in Connecticut. His strong faith compelled him to found the Chicago Rock of Our Salvation Evangelical Free Church. Mr. Washington lives in Florida with his wife and has degrees from Florida A & M University and Trinity International University. He was granted the Joy Cummings Award for evangelism and was selected for Who's Who in American Colleges and Universities. His 1994 book, " Breaking Down Walls: A Model of Reconciliation in an Age of Racial Strife", was given the 1994 Gold Medallion Award from the Christian Booksellers Association.
