Trustees Elected at Nutmeg Financial, MHC Annual Meeting

Mark C. Yanarella, Chairman of Nutmeg Financial, MHC, the parent of Naugatuck Savings Bank and John M. Sutherland Insurance, Inc., announced at its annual meeting of its Board of Corporators, that David W. Nurnberger, retired Senior Vice President of Human Resources for Boehringer Ingelheim and Stephen C. Widman, M.D. of Cardiology Associates of Greater Waterbury, P.C. were elected as trustees of Nutmeg Financial, MHC.

"Their strong leadership and management skills will serve as an asset to our organization", said Chairman Mark C. Yanarella. "Nutmeg Financial, MHC will greatly benefit from the vast amount of knowledge and professionalism they possess." Mr. Nurnberger currently serves as Chairman of the Board of the Western Connecticut State University Foundation. He is also a member of the board and chaired a $1.8 million Capital Campaign for Ann's Place: The Home of I Can. Mr. Nurnberger is a founding director of Simply Smiles, Inc. Mr. Nurnberger previously served as Chairman of the Board of the Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce and as a board member for numerous organizations including the Fairfield County Community Foundation, The Danbury School and Business Collaborative, and the Fairfield County March of Dimes. Mr. Nurnberger earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Western Connecticut State University in Danbury, Connecticut and a Masters of Public Administration degree from Golden Gate University in San Francisco, California. Mr. Nurnberger served in the United States Air Force from 1972 to 1975. He received an honorable discharge and the Meritorious Service Medal. Dr. Stephen C. Widman, in addition to his practice, is also Director of Intervention at the Heart Center of Greater Waterbury; Attending Physician of Medicine and Cardiology at St. Mary's Hospital, and Attending Physician of Medicine and Cardiology at Waterbury Hospital. Dr. Stephen C. Widman currently holds the following certifications: American Board of Internal Medicine, Added Qualifications in Interventional Cardiology; American Board of Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Disease and American Board of Internal Medicine, Internal Medicine.Dr. Stephen C. Widman earned a Biology, AB degree at College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, MA; Medicine, M.D. at Bowman Gray School of Medicine, Winston-Salem, NC; Medicine, Internship at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, NH; Medicine Residency at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, NH and Medicine, Cardiology Fellowship at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY. His post-doctoral training includes Intern in Medicine at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, NH; Resident in Medicine, Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, NH; Fellow in Cardiology at University of Rochester, Strong Memorial Hospital and Chief Fellow in Cardiology at University of Rochester, Strong Memorial Hospital. Dr. Stephen C. Widman served five years in the United States Navy as United State Naval Officer Highest Rank: Lieutenant. Nutmeg Financial, MHC is a non-stock mutual holding company formed in 2005.
