2011 Disability Mentoring Day

Connect-Ability, Transaction Consulting, LLC and the CT Business Leadership Network are proud to present "Disability Mentoring Day," a project of The American Association of People with Disabilities (AAPD). This year's event will be commemorated on Wednesday, October 19th, 2011.As part of National Disability Employment Awareness Month, Disabilities Mentoring Day promotes career development for students and job-seekers with disabilities through job shadowing and hands on career exploration. We bring students and adults together with area businesses for an informational session about career opportunities and one-on-one mentoring with volunteers at public and private places of employment.
Benefit for employers: Disability mentoring day provides public and private employers an opportunity to: -recruit interns -tap a pool of potential future employees -demonstrate positive leadership in their communities -and attract positive media attention through connect-ability's statewide media coverage of disability mentoring day partners as part of their National Disability Employment Awareness Month activities.
