Castle Craig Players: Play Your Part
November 3, 2019Since 1992, The Castle Craig Players strive to entertain and enlighten our audiences, while providing a creative outlet for the greater Meriden community. Our directors, singers, actors, costumers, choreographers are all volunteer members of our community - teachers, business owners, seniors, parents, university students, and youth - who have special talents and interests that yearn for a creative outlet.
As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, producing a full season of plays and musicals is not an inexpensive task. Believe it or not ticket sales only cover 60% of our operating costs.
In addition to production expenses, we are continuing to make improvements to our building so that, YOU, our patrons can enjoy your visit to the theatre. Recent improvements include: new chairs and cabaret style tables, a new HVAC system, new stage lighting and projection system and a new sound system. Our next and the single largest upgrade project is of the front fašade of the building. We will be replacing the plate glass windows and the door with energy efficient, safety glass, as well as upgrading the space above and below the windows, all while maintaining the elegance of the art deco style. This will not be an easy task, nor an inexpensive one.
In keeping with our commitment to provide professional quality, affordable theater, your support is needed to help us meet our growing financial demands. By making a tax-deductible donation, you can become a part of the family of supporters who help to keep Castle Craig Players alive here in Meriden for years to come!
