Ion Bank's Dawn Orsini Named as a New Leader in Banking

Dawn Orsini, Vice President of Retail Banking at Ion Bank has been chosen as a "New Leader in Banking" for 2013. The Connecticut Bankers Association and Connecticut Banking magazine asked bankers throughout the Nutmeg State to nominate individuals that they believe are rising stars in the banking profession. Nominees needed to be employed at a Connecticut bank, be 50 years of age or younger, and be making a significant contribution to their institution or community. Dawn is among a handful of other individuals that were chosen with this distinguished honor. On Thursday evening, January 16, 2014, the Connecticut Bankers Association hosted a Gala Awards Ceremony and dinner at the MGM Grand Resort at Foxwoods."All of us at Ion Bank are extremely proud of Dawn" said Deborah Wheelahan, Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer at Ion Bank. "Dawn makes a significant contribution to our bank and our community. Dawn shares Ion Bank's philosophy of continually striving to make our community a better place to live and work."
Mrs. Orsini attended Post University and graduated from the CT School of Finance Management and the Leadership Greater Waterbury Program. Dawn currently serves as Steering Committee Chair of Leadership Greater Waterbury; Board of Directors Secretary of Shakesperience Productions, Inc. and has been a Mentor at Children's Community School in Waterbury for the past 11 years. In 2008, Dawn received the Leadership Greater Waterbury Alumni of the Year Award and the Attorney Robert C. Mellon Award. The Attorney Robert C. Mellon was awarded to Dawn for her commitment to the Mentoring Program at Children's Community School. Dawn is a Waterbury native currently residing in Morris with her husband John and sons JP and Christopher.
